Ok so a while ago Aeria introduced Item mixing to the game, and everyone was so excited about it that they completely ignored it! No seriously I mean it, I mean when I tell people that my character is a Med-Sci (Medical Scientist) I get many a question mark shoved in front of my screen.
So I am writing this guide to clear up exactly what Medical sciences/Item mixology is.
1.What Is “Medical Science” 2.What is Item Mixology 3.Getting Started 4.Training Medical Sciences: 5.Mixology Materials - Demon Materials - Misc Materials 6. Recipes: COMING SOON

What is “Medical Science”? Medical Science is an expertise that is raised by using the Item Mixology ability, it allows you to craft various items from materials that drop from all sorts of demons, as well as from everyday items.
What is Item Mixology? Item Mixology/Mixing is the act of combining two ingredients/materials together to create a new Item. The Item Mixology interface is accessed from your menu [PC][Item Mixing] The item mixology interface looks like this.
It is here that you combine the ingredients/materials.
Getting Started. To start your career as a medical scientist you need to go to Aya’s Clinic in Home III, talk to her and choose the option "Ask about Mixology". This will start the quest “An invitation to Mixology”. Aya will ask you to mix two materials to make a new item. You will need to mix Teardrop: blue with Teardrop: Green, Aya will provide you with these materials along with a magic stone. You will be given a basic introduction on how mixology works and then she will give you a few more tears for your efforts along with a bunch of new recipes.
Training Medical Sciences. Item mixing raises medical science expt, however you can’t just go to your local magic shop or pharmacy and mix Agi stones and magic stones, no you have to mix demon materials. Demon materials are dropped by, you guessed it, demons. Each field in Megaten has a Specific type of material which comes in different variations. So You will need to have some patience and time because you will be killing a lot of demons from here on out. Training Medical Sciences. The easiest way to level Medical sciences is to farm pixies & Hua-PO in Suginami an create Ointments/magic stones, the recipe for both is 5+5 blue tears and blue tears drop frequently.
Medical sciences is pretty hard to raise and if you intend to make a medical scientist I suggest you make a male character because you will be wanting to have the “Rulers set” + Scattering pollen. If you are using a female character I suggest finding the 2009 Halloween data ticket and using that set with Scattering pollen.
Builds: Whilst medical sciences and item mixing do not gain any bonuses from stats they Rely heavily on luck to increase the drop rates of the materials they want, especially silver and gold materials It is wise to turn your Medical scientist into a rapid gunner as both classes benefit heavily from Luck.
